Lucas Dillon
Lucas X. Dillon is the founder of The Dillon Law Group and is an experienced Criminal Defense Trial Attorney who specializes in criminal and family law. He has shown his excellence in the courtroom and beyond in a wide array of cases, including white collar criminal cases and other major felonies in Michigan. Lucas has been fighting for his clients amongst the area’s well-respected attorneys since 2012 and has proven his worth.
Even before he had graduated law school, Lucas was already working for several Top Criminal Defense Attorneys including Michael G. Hocking, Raymond Buffmyer, and the late Norman Gaffney. These mentors trained Lucas in trial skills for years prior to Lucas founding The Dillon Law Group.
In 2012 The Dillon Law Group was founded. Within just two years of practice, Lucas was selected to be a Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Attorney for the Western District of Michigan. The CJA Panel is an elite group of lawyers who go through a rigorous selection process by the Michigan Federal Defender as well as the sitting Federal Judges in Michigan. Lucas is 1 of 2 CJA attorneys in Okemos and 1 of 4 in the tri- county area. CJA attorneys are carefully selected through a process based upon extensive trial experience, excellence in Federal practice, and reputation in the community for superb practice. Lucas has been on the CJA Panel for eight years.
In recent years, Lucas has also been designated as a Top 40 Under 40 recipient by
National Trial Lawyers® in criminal defense, a SuperLawyers’® Rising Star, and has been recognized by Michigan’s Top Lawyers®.
In addition to being commended as a top attorney by institutions made up of his fellow legal professionals, Lucas has also been recognized by the public as a top attorney. He has been named Charlotte’s Favorite Attorney by the Lansing State Journal.
Lucas earned his undergraduate degree at Defiance College in 2008. During his time at Defiance he was both a stellar student and athlete, earning the high honor of being named a DIII All-American Wide Receiver. While his career on the field was cut short by injury, Lucas remains a dedicated college football fan and is partial to the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
Lucas then went on to earn his Juris Doctorate at Cooley Law School in 2012. Here is where he found his passion in law and excelled in his practice.
Originally from Temperance, Michigan, Lucas comes from a family of 10 children and was adopted by his parents, Dr. Tom and Dee Dillon, as a newborn. Lucas currently resides in Bath, Michigan, with his wife, Renee, and their four children: Luke Jr., Desmond, Genevieve, and James. Right now, Luke and Renee spend a lot of quality time at home with their young children. When they are able to get away, they like to explore the different sights of Michigan and hang out on the beach.

Who is Michael Hocking?
A former Circuit Court Judge, elected Prosecuting Attorney for Eaton County, and criminal defense attorney, Michael has over 30 years of jury trial experience. His wide range of strengths has shaped him into a criminal defense powerhouse. He began his private practice back in 1997 where he participated in around 100 divorce mediations as party counsel, has tried over 400 criminal jury trials, and continued his professional education as an instructor and member of a plethora of prestigious boards.
Michael’s Academic Background
Michael began in 1969 with a Social Science Pre-Law major at Lansing Community
College where he then transferred to Michigan State University to complete a
Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, with Honors in 1973. He went on to receive his Juris Doctorate in 1976 at Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Since then, Michael has participated in Trial Techniques, Federal Criminal and Civil Procedure, Homicide Investigation and Prosecution, and many more.
Michael Hocking is now of counsel of The Dillon Law Group.
What Does “Of Counsel” Mean?
Michael has begun the transition into retirement, putting his faith in Lucas Dillon to take over all new cases. Considering how many years of experience and knowledge Mr. Hocking has, he is a valuable asset to the team. Requests may be made to have Michael oversee big picture decisions on your case to gain more insight and strategy. Michael personally trained Luke Dillon for over a few years before The Dillon Law Group was established, giving Luke the incredible skills he has to win your case. While Luke is more than capable of handling your case, in certain circumstances, Michael can provide wisdom and guidance for the best path to success.
Now that he’s retired, Michael gets to spend more time doing the things he loves which include Hunting, Golfing, Fishing, Spending time with family and friends

Krissy Jackson
Krissy Jackson, Office Manager at The Dillon Law Group, is a passionate and experienced administrative professional. With her tireless work ethic, positive outlook, and willingness to take on complex tasks, our clients experience the best legal services available. Krissy moved to Lansing in May 2020; at which time she began her legal career. Prior to that, her experience includes Office Management; Purchasing, Shipping, and Inventory Control management; Human Resources, and Payroll to list a few.
Born and raised in the picturesque “Cherry Capital of the World,” she is a graduate of 1999 from Traverse City Central High School in northern Michigan. The second oldest child of divorced parents, she developed an astonishing ability to empathize very early on; she began to take notice of injustices in everyday life, and she began to seek ways in which she might help change the world. During her sophomore year in high school, Krissy began researching trauma, and the life-long effects of experiencing trauma, and she became passionate about hearing people’s stories. With a deep concern for humanity, she spends her personal time seeking ways in which to improve the lives of others. Once a Legal Assistant in the Prosecutors office, she found that her passion lies in private practice helping with Defense. Krissy has legal experience in Immigration, Probate/Estate Planning, Family, and Criminal law. Her extensive background, which includes decades of experience in numerous office environments, has imparted her with a dedication to excellence and a willingness to solve any problem put in front of her.
Krissy now lives in south Lansing with her husband, Greg, and two sons, Kaegen and Kolten. When she’s not at the office, she enjoys watching her boys play soccer with their youth league, watching college and NFL football, playing with her dogs, and soaking up family time.

Noah Thelen
Noah Thelen is a recent graduate of Michigan State University College of Law. While in law school, Noah participated in International Law Review, writing about various criminal issues such as incarceration rates and federal drug policies. Additionally, Noah was one of under thirty students that were selected to participate in the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute.
As part of the Trial Practice Institute, Noah was assigned hypothetical criminal and civil cases that helped strengthen his research skills and eventually was able to litigate the cases from start to finish his third year of law school. During these trials, Noah was able to practice strengthening his litigation skills in front of several federal judges and State Supreme Court Judges. Additional benefits of this program are e-discovery procedures and its impact on litigation developments.
While participating in these mock trials, Noah was able hone in his criminal law skills. This has allowed him to successfully draft numerous contested motions for high profile federal and state cases. In addition to criminal law, Noah also enjoys family law.
When Noah is not at work, you can find him watching the New York Yankees or any Michigan State sports team.
